2025 SDMB Celebrity Death Pool

I have her in my Celebrity Life Pool and I think she is doing great!

Crossposted from the MLB thread:

Diego Segui, who pitched in the very first game in Seattle Mariners history, has died at 87.

It would’ve been fitting had he passed during an eclipse. Timing, people!

Bill Moyers has passed away at 91.

Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning

I saw him perform at the Village Vanguard in NYC in 2002. I sat right next to the stage about 10 feet from the piano he was playing. He was magnificent and after the show, the friend and I whom I went to the show with approached him to tell him how much we loved his music. He very kindly offered to take photos with him and give us his autograph. It was a night I’ll never forget. Thank you for your music and kindness, Mr. Schifrin. May you rest in eternal peace. :folded_hands::person_bowing::folded_hands:

Bill Moyers is #15 in this famous picture. He was Deputy Director of the Peace Corps at the time.

He was a familiar face in the 70s and 80s. His son Ryan Hurst from Sons of Anarchy became more famous.

Since your post didn’t include the name, it was Rick Hurst, who played Cletus Hogg.

Clark Olofsson, celebrity Swedish gangster after whom the term Stockholm Syndrome was coined after the Norrmalmstorg robbery, has died aged 78

He led an eventful life and somehow managed to stay the last seven years out of prison.

Pretty sure most of the folks that have caused this gain in points for him don’t celebrate Christmas…

I was hopin somebody would appreciate that!

One of the mainstays of the great Pirates teams of the ‘70s, Dave Parker, slides home at 74.

I’m not sure how he fell off my radar. I know I had him on a list somewhere.

I totally forgot that he played for several more teams after he left the Pirates, winning another championship with the A’s in 1989.

At least he got in the Hall before his demise, unlike so many before him who often got elected only in the wake of their deaths, like Ron Santo or Dick Allen.

I remember the game when John Sterns broke Dave Parker’s face when Parker tried to run him over at home. Parker was much bigger but Sterns was tough as nails.
