I know you don’t seem to enjoy answering direct questions, but I figure I’ll try anyways. Any chance of you sharing an email address we can reach you at, in the event that you become “unavailable” to post here any longer? I know you enjoy your anonymity, Christ knows I wouldn’t want the people I work with to know that I’m “that guy”.
Slow day here at work, so I’ve had ample opportunity for surfing the SDMB. Enough time to go and read through the entire 8-page trainwreck linked above. Took me the better part of 3 hours, but man - was that entertainment time well spent! Holy shit - that dude hit the trifecta: stupid, crazy, and an asshole. Wow. Thanks, Scissorjack
I’ve lurked around the SDMB for years (initially drawn in by just the sort of human dramedy as evinced in the above-referenced thread), and even though I’ve been a full member for 8 months now, I still lurk way more than I actually post. Some of that is my work schedule, some of it is inertia, but a lot of my reluctance to post is due to my desire to avoid being “known” as a purveyor of idiocy.
I think it’s safe to say that, having examined that thread (and several threads started by the OP of this one), I don’t have much to worry about. This could very well be a turning point for me here at the SDMB.
And if it’s a slow day tomorrow, I think I might just check out this andrewt85 of which you speak…
Well, I’m next door in Minnesota, and I’ve been over to Wisconsin (cheese-head-land) and worked campaigns with Jason.
I’ve been working political campaign for longer than Jason has been alive, but I can’t persuade voters the way he can. Heck, I can hardly even keep up with him lit dropping the block! He is a very hard-working, accomplished political worker.
Secondly, regarding the comment that democracy is endangered because idiot voters will vote for someone just because they are young – Jason was elected to the DNC not by idiot, know-nothing voters – he was elected by the party organizers of the Wisconsin Democratic Party – the party insiders. These people did indeed know him, and his work, and elected him because of that. They knew far more about him than you did when you started this thread.
P.S. Just like Dougie Houser, Jason is gay. So on that list of the things he could do at his age, drop the “get married” one – the Republicans of Wisconsin have eliminated that possibility for now. Oh, and apparently his fellow Democratic activists had no problem electing him to the DNC despite that.
