23 years ago today this actor passed away

Here.

187 years ago today the US bought Alaska from Russia.

66 years ago the British 1st army recaptured Sejenane.

1 year ago today President George W. Bush threw out the ceremonial first pitch at the Washington National’s new stadium, Nationals Park.

These events are all part of the master plan.

28 years ago today John Hinckley, Jr. shot and wounded U.S. President Ronald Reagan and three others outside the Washington Hilton Hotel in Washington, D.C…

I know, hard to believe it’s 2054 already.

Geez. Let’s go all the way back on wiki:

2,249 years ago the first certain recorded observation of Halley’s Comet* was made.

*what would much LATER be known as Halley’s.

All of this has happened before, and all of this will happen again.

You dirty rat! Couldn’t you have at least told us who this thread was about?

And thereby left me permanently conditioned to believe that any time a “Special Report” interrupts regular programming on TV, the President has been shot.

Or Buckwheat…

The sighting is credited to Roman satirist Bernardus Klibanus, who wrote:
THERE GOES THAT ROTTEN
HALLEY’S COMET!
IT MAKES ME SICK!
I WANT TO VOMET!

Now that’s cool trivia

It’s extremely cool. I had no idea that we bought Alaska from Russia in 1822.

We’re young for our age.

ProfessorX, yes, it was on March 30th but I believe perhaps Loach was thinking of the date and not the interval since when he typed 187. It happened in 1867, 142 years ago.

If I ever see a “Special Report” that is sponsored, I’m sure that is the first thing I’ll think of.
