Anyone else think that a 25 Grand bail is a bit high for a water balloon? Sure, it was the Speaker of the House but it was just a fucking water balloon!
The real injustice is that a water ballooning a Minority whip will only get you a $10,000 bail.
Well, this is a very serious crime. You see, American politicians are made of pure SHIT. Being that shit melts in water, that water balloon could have caused poor Dennis to melt into nothing more than a pool of watery brown goo.
But…but…there could have been pee or acid in that balloon, and he could’ve gotten hurt by flying water or rubber bits, and besides, it startled him, and scared him, and that’s TERRORISM.
Sheesh.
Too bad it wasn’t full of poo.

So, if a water balloon sets bail at 25 grand. How much for a pie in the face ala http://www.local6.com/news/2323215/detail.html
Sigh. The terrorists have already won.
Any day now they are going to find Saddams secret water balloon factory.
No no no! Now they are looking for evidence of Sadaam’s water balloon PROGRAM.
Is it less legal to ‘assault’ a ranking politician than joe-nobody? Isn’t that unamerican?
Someone here once threw a wet t-shirt at the Queen. The Queen lived…but then she’s royal
There is something about the image of the Queen in a wet T-shirt.
I think it’s a good desicion. You should not throw crap at people. The victim does not know what they are being hit with until after the fact. It really could have been something worse than water in there, how is anybody else going to know?
In addition, it is an embarassing commentary on the protestor’s level of political discourse.
How freekin juvenile do you need to be to take all the trouble to make a water balloon so you can throw it at a parade firetruck? Dude, you’re 33! Did you forget the last 20 years of your life?
Balduran,
The person in question was not protesting anythingl. He was just being the standard “act before you think” american.
Can you honestly say that this action is worth 25 grand in bail? Should the said person get the same punishment if he threw a water balloon at me?
If he had protested by mailing some baking soda, he would be in big trouble. What’s to prevent the balloon from being full of Liquid Plumber?
Don’t attack people. It’s impolite.
As pointed out by MrTuffPaws, clueless guy wasn’t protesting anything. He claims he was unaware who was driving.
Regarding balloon filled with Liquid Plumr, my guess is it wouldn’t have survived long enough to hit anything. Liquid Plumr isn’t recommended for rubber.
I know most of the plumbers I’ve had have been a bit ‘wet behind the ears’, but LIQUID PLUMBER?
Please decode for your non-US boardmates.
Ta muchly.
