It’s all relative. There were a few people to the left of me and I’m just so used to always having to fight the leftie corner except with good friends.
Yes, there was somethings about companies being responsible about the environment and some of a more general in a “are we screwing up the planet” line of thought.
Random question: Does believing in horoscopes make you more leftwing, rightwing, libertarian or authoritarian and why? That one really puzzled me. If I have time I will see which was test scores change by that one.
Random thought: It seems as though the authoritarian left (top left corner) is seriouly out of fashion nowadays. Nobody in that corner, unless I overlooked someone. It’s not really surprising, though.
That’s partially an effect of this test; I’m pretty much socialist in my beliefs but I consistently test libertarian on this one - and it’s designed to make you “realize” that deep down, you’re a libertarian. (I don’t have a drop of libertarianism in me, aside from my liberalism on social issues. I’m a much better fit with the democrats.)
It’s pretty worthless - too many of the questions “force” you to answer a certain way. In a discussion I read about the topic somewhere, someone pointed out that communists could easily create a rigged test like this - “It’s important for people to help one another. Yes or no?”
Always consider the source - these questions are highly biased and loaded.
Yeah, i’m amazed how libertarian I was rated. I am all for rules and regulations -drawing a line in sand, over which you must not cross - and all that. Just because I think pot should be legalised and abortion not illegal, it makes me sound like a raving anarchist.
Buckleberry ferry came out as the biggest facist with 4.25 (how did you do it?). Only 2 others just scraped into the positives on this axis, every one else tended libertarian. I agree it is heavily skewed to libertarian.
Economic -4.88
Social -4.56
I think pot and abortion got me too, with a touch of sympathy for the artiste. Do the wards of asyla over flow with +/-10, +/-10 people?
Economic Left/Right: 5.38
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 0.21
I’m okay with the economic part, but the slightly authoritarian part is what gets me. Authoritarian my @$$! this is definately slanted toward libertarianism. There should have been a “neither agree nor disagree” selection because there were some questions I just didn’t give a crap a about. That site sucked.
Economic Left/Right: 2.50
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.36
Another Friedman-lite, although the site claims that I am nearly a Liberal Democrat ::snort:: . So far, the average doper scores -0.62, -3.74*. Buncha lefties ;). Nobody at all in the upper left quadrant yet - don’t we have a token Stalinist?
I also scored 9.6 on the Too Much Time On Your Hands axis.
Economic Left/Right: -2.00
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.62
I ranked slightly more to the right on economics than DL did.
I do agree that some of the questions were a bit skewed though. While I do find myself quite socially liberal, the wording of the questions skewed me more towards the left on economics than I would have fallen otherwise.
