I haven’t seen many episodes, but I’m definitely getting into it. Will Arnett’s presence probably helped nudge me in this direction, but it reminds a lot of Arrested Development. Not as good, but much more accessible (not even so much humor wise, but the big names), thus much more security to become a longer lasting show.
And I knew his last name was Arnett. :smack: I sent a letter to an Arndt today. :o
It hasn’t quite reached AD proportions yet, but it’s improved 200% since the first episode. I really think it’s been better than the Office this second half of the season.
I loved Lemon’s litany of embarrassing things- funny and almost sad, what with the thing about how she can’t stand the sound of the vacuum cleaner because her mom always turned it on to drown out the sound of fighting w/Lemon’s dad. It almost made me <sniff>, but then the next thing was funny. Nice mix.
This show has been shaping up to be one of my favorites, more or less tied with The Office, which had a really great episode last night as well. The Thomas Jefferson dream was brilliant, especially having Jack Donaghy appear as Jefferson.
Any episode that focuses on Kenneth is fun. I noticed that the second time he showed up at Will Arnett’s hotel room he was wearing mascara and lip gloss.
I didn’t see the whole episode, but I saw this part and I thought she did a great job. She’s one helluva talent. She pooped her pants and stayed for a second plate of shrimp? That’s fucking hilarious! Yet sad .
I’m glad to see its placement after The Office. This is a great show that too many people aren’t watching. Hopefully The Office audience will stick around for it in the future. At least it was picked up for a second season.
“I rode my horse all the way from heaven to tell you this…”
I lost my shit.
Did that plot ever actually resolve?
After Lemon’s confession I wanted the dude to say “You know none of that compares to the experiences of even a mild alcoholic.” Other than the pooped pants it was all fairly minor stuff.
The joke was the entire fireworks debacle: the loud booms, smoke, and sparks/fire surrounding a tower in Manhattan, and not on the Fourth of July. The visual really sold it. Like they said, that’s going to scare a lot of people specifically because they had an unplanned day of that kind of thing a few years back.
