As a person who wears glasses, I want to know when the big change in 3d movies is gonna be.
I love the “polarized” lens 3D (Real3d, and other copyrighted names). I remember reading about it in a magzine like 10-15 years ago. But the one thing that article said was that someday we would all own our own pair of 3d glasses to wear when we went to the movies.
Right now, when I go to a 3D movie, I am told by the Theater that the extra $4 is to help pay for the glasses…the same glasses they collect in a bin at the end of the movie. I have no doubt those glasses are repakaged and given to people at a later date to watch another movie (one hopes that they are sterilized or cleaned). Once those glasses are used a few times the cost should drop and the 3D movies should be cheaper…but they are not. And , like I said at the begining, I wear glasses (Don’t tell me about contact lenses…I could never actually TOUCH my eyeball…yuck)
I would rather have lenses I could “clip” on like the sunglass lenses I use in the summer.
Does anyone know if something like this is eventually gonna happen, of should I look into having a custom pair of glasses made out of the polarized glass?? (I mean when I winn the lottery and have the money for something ridiculous like that)
