$50,000 on Jeopardy!

Congrats to The Man Who - it’s one thing to be a trivia weenie, it’s another thing entirely to get it correct under pressure!

And we’re not talkin’ Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, here - fewer questions - over-hyped drama…

See, the difference between Jeopardy and Millionaire is speed. It’s one thing to answer questions at your own pace, in a comfy chair, with Regis encouraging you. It’s another matter entirely to not only answer right, but first and right. All the stress on Millionaire is over in the Fastest Finger.

In other words, way to go, Myron!

By the way, shouldn’t his second episode have aired by now? How’d he do?

In my media market, the Friday show was pre-empted by tennis, and I haven’t talked to anybody who saw yesterday’s show (my girlfriend, who clued me in to his record-setting day, missed it).

Anyone see the show?

I understand that, sadly, Myron lost. And the new winner won the second-largest amount in Jeopardy history.

And I think that the Final Jeopardy question had to do with Deion Sanders in some respect. Which explains the comment on “boning up on your sports trivia.”

What with the next show resulting in the second-highest payday ever, It was a pretty impressive week on Jeopardy.

Since my inglorious defeat on September 24, 2001 in the Tournament of Champions, I have stopped watching Jeopardy! I see bits of it occassionally, but I just don’t feel like watching it. Partly out of boredom with the game, partly out of jealousy that they doubled the prize money so soon after my appearances.
