50 acorns tied in a sack

Now there are 51

Whoopee.

Mods?

So what the hell does this mean anyway?

Did it refer to the 50 US states? Something about smuggling some drugs back to London? A penchant for oak trees?

(For the unawares, the phrase comes out of “The Ballad of John and Yoko”:

*Caught the early plane back to London
Fifty acorns tied in a sack
The men from the press
said we wish you successs
It’s good to have the both of you back *)

Sorry, let me try this again: According to legend, and “The Ballad of John & Yoko”, John Lennon had “50 acorns tied in a sack” for world leaders. What ever happened to these acorns. Where they planted? Eaten? Tossed out? Sold on E-Bay?
