Last night was a great night to video your friends who had only watched the “Game of Thrones” TV show, but not read the books they are based on.
Sooo, why was everyone filming their friends watching the show?
To get the reactions on film.
Red Wedding I presume?
Tons of spoilers in the comments (as always, sigh) by the way.
I’m not usually one to make a big deal about spoilers, but if someone hadn’t seen last night’s episode yet this post title alone would be fairly spoilery. No reason it needs its own thread, really, should be merged into the other thread.
Ahh, I see the series has made it to the Red Wedding.
The term “ragequit” wasn’t in my vocabulary when reading the series, but it’s an apt one, and appropriate to this particular scene.
And I don’t see how any of this is particularly spoilery - nothing has been given away. If viewers are expecting candy and rainbows, perhaps they were looking for the Friendship is Magic thread instead?
My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic can be DARK though. My kid sometimes sobs through entire episodes. Discord was particularly disturbing, as was A Canterlot Wedding.
Granted, The Red Wedding makes me cry more than MLP makes my kid cry, but it can be fairly traumatizing.
Meh, it is electrons and actors.
When they show Prince Harry getting married and a massacre happening then I’ll get fashed.
“And in today’s episode, Twilight Sparkle makes the discovery that friends make the very best blood sacrifices for black magic!”* - GRRM becomes a writer for MLP: FiM*
Is this what the book readers do in their open spoilers threads? Plan mass reaction-shot videos?
I for one didn’t find it too objectionable. The baby belly stabbing on paper is horrific but the execution (no pun intended) seemed a little contrived. I don’t thin it was common knowledge that she was carrying.
Lord Frey hinted strongly he could tell.
What I find most objectionable about that video is the number of people who don’t know the correct orientation in which to hold their camera while recording.
There was no baby belly stabbing in the book.
Love this, not even for the schadenfreude aspect, but just because I think it’s fun that people can be so engaged with something that it gives them strong reactions.
Le sigh.
Huh…I didn’t realize the meaning of this scene. I didn’t get (nor even wondered) why she was wearing a cloak and what Lord Frey was hinting at. :smack:
She had a baby bump, at least i thought she did.
All those jaws hitting the floor, it’s a wonder there wasn’t a loud cracking sound all across the nation. Still, that guy who lost it when Ned got beheaded (They killed my nigga!) cannot be beaten. Surprisingly, I think I only saw 2 ragequits.
Also, I think the angle is bad in a lot of the videos because they are being filmed secretly.
P.S. “Ragequit” and “murderboner” are the best new words HBO’s GoT has given us.
Not sure about murderboner but ragequit is pretty darn old.
I’ve never seen the show before and I’ve never read the books…
…but it’s articles/videos like this that make me intrigued enough to start, maybe…
