Edit: Sorry I misunderstood the OP
Although the other examples shown are close, your example was precisely what I was looking for!
Yeah, having spent way too much of my childhood watching Scooby-Doo reruns, I knew exactly what you were talking about. Most of those songs are pretty forgettable, but there are a couple that aren’t too bad as light bubblegum pop songs go. As I said, I think “Pretty Mary Sunlight” is the best of the bunch.
I had never seen the original video of Sugar, sugar before. $1.00 for the kissing (on the cheek) booth actually sounds a little steep for the time, equivalent to close to $9.00 today. Although if they knew in advance it gave them the brief experience of what it was like to be a large anthropomorphic animal it was probably a more reasonable price point.
A kid could get 20 sessions of psychiatric help for that back then.
But that was from an unlicensed crank. It would be like going to the butt enhancer in the Miami area that was using silicone caulk from Home Depot.
So, you’re saying Betty is a pro?
Indeed. Most logical.
That was Sabrina.

Seem like I remember Jerry Reed singing “Pretty Mary Sunlight” when he was a guest on Scooby Doo Movies.

That’s true. The Scooby-Doo movies was the season where each episode featured a guest star (for certain values of “star”). The guests ranged from real people like Jerry Reed to real but dead people like the Three Stooges, to fictional characters like Batman and Robin.
Anyway, in two instances they re-used those Austin Roberts songs and had the guest star sing them. Jerry Reed sang “Pretty Mary Sunlight,” and Davy Jones sang “I Can Make You Happy.”
Why do I know these things?!
Nice. I’m glad to see that they agree with my ranking of “Pretty Mary Sunlight” as number 1.
“Chase songs”. Perfect name for them!
I think Austin Roberts had a minor radio hit with “Run, Joey, Run”.
