Yes, we did have song titles back in the 1960’s. Some were long (Stuck Inside Of Mobile With The Memphis Blues Again) and some short (Help!), but they were there.
OK—ok I probably deserve that.
It’s a homework assignment
She is 12
ARe you lookng for any song tiles in the Sixties, from Marty Robbins’ 1960 El Paso (“Out in the West Texas town of El paso, I fell in lve with a Mexican girl…”) to Leavin’ On A Jet PLane, the 1969 Peter Paul & Mary tune (“All my bags are packed, I’m ready to go…”) ?
That could be a long list.
How about one song from each of the ten years?
1960 – * Theme From “A Summer Place”*, Percy Faith and his Orchetsra
1961 – Tossin’ and Turnin’, Bobby Lewis
1962 – Sherry, The 4 Seasons
1963 – Sugar Shack, Jimmy Gilmer and the Fireballs (note: this song was at #1 when yours truly was born)
1964 – I Wanna Hold Your Hand, The Beatles
1965 – (I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction, The Rolling Stones
1966 – I’m A Believer, The Monkees
1967 – To Sir, With Love, Lulu
1968 – I Heard It Through The Grapevine, Marvin Gaye
1969 – In The Year 2525, Zager & Evans
Hope this helps!

Thanks. Hope thats enough but I don’t know.
Er, mind if I ask what sort of lame-ass kind of school assignment this is and what it’s supposed to teach her? I assume there’s more to it than just coming up with song titles.
Now there’s nothing unexpected about the water giving out; “Land” is not a word we have to shout.
Here’s a few more:
1960 Roy Orbison “Only the Lonely”
1961 Elvis Presley “Can’t Help Falling in Love”
1963 The Chiffons “He’s So Fine”
1964 The Beatles “Twist & Shout”
1966 The Mamas & the Papas “California Dreamin’”
1967 Tommy James & The Shondells “I Think We’re Alone Now”
1969 The Fifth Dimension “Aquarius/Let the Sunshine In”
I can’t figure it out either. They are supposed to design a Menu.Probably Home Ec or whatever they call it now days. She is really pretty creative and maybe that is getting in the way. Hell she designed a whole restaurant before she went to bed. I am convelessing from an operation so I had to lay down. She and her mother were still working on it when I left.
The song titles were to go on the menu.
If it’s for a restaurant menu, shouldn’t we be offering titles like “Mashed Potato,” “Gravy,” and for your really low-rent dives, “Do the Pony”?
When did they sing " DO the mash,Do the monster mash."
OHHHHHHHHHHH! My apologies, that actually makes sense. But I’m not sure what sort of food they’d serve at a 60’s restaurant…are you sure it’s not supposed to be a 50’s diner or something?

“Monster Mash” by Bobby “Boris” Pickett and the Crypt-Kickers was from 1962.
Doin’t forget the Beatles’ “Savoy Truffle.”
Why, they’d server the Lettuce Sandwich Deluxe, of course! With Shrooms, $.59 extra.
