ABC canceled the show today, along with Last Resort.
Damn. That’s a shame. At least they’ll get to finish out the first 13 episodes so we still have 6 more left.
I was excited about this show from the beginning but I had my doubts about its survival from the beginning too. This isn’t Bewitched-style 60’s occultism and it certainly isn’t Twilight-style anything. If it had been, it might have had a chance.
I figured they would, since I liked it. But then again, you just can’t have too many “reality” shows, or sitcoms about wisecracking buddies.
Oh, I’m bummed! It’s was far from the best show ever, but I was enjoying it.
I finally noticed that my DVR was light a few episodes. The last one I saw in December did seem to be wrapping things up in a bit of a hurry and that should have made me suspicious.
However a month later there’s this report.
So my question basically is WTF? How does that work exactly? Miniseries? Are they going to see if the show is work renewing? Are they just screwing with us?
I mean if there’s absolutely no chance that the show is going anywhere or has value in pimping other shows, why bother? Use the 4 episodes to sell the DVD/BR sets. Use the air time to test market new material.
The only explanation that I can think of, not that I’ve thought about it a lot or that doing so would get me very far, but it only makes sense to me if the summers are really soooo dead that they just need some crap to fill the space that at least some dumb ass advertiser will pay for.
One reason the summer might make sense though is that the show’s sets were damaged in hurricane Sandy. Airing the remaining episodes over the summer gives them the advantage of little competition, so they can get a better read on whether it’s worth the expense of shooting a few more episodes.
IDK. I’m probably stoned. I need to review the 5 stages of grief I think.
Thanks for the heads up. Dunno if I’ll bother, but at least it’s up to me now.
