I am with Gabo Garcia Marquez, accents and diéresis must die.
My computer doesn’t have dieresis
It’s diéresis.
I prefer to call it umlaut.
its ümlaüt
In elvish? Or hobbit-ese?
No no no, there is no “Elvish”, its Quenya or Sindarin, Hobbits speak Oestron
Ignorance fought!
So: do you spell umlaut like ümlaüt in Quenya or Sindarin or Oestron?
As long as we’re picking nits, you want it’s, not its.
:D.
Just joking, about the ümlaüt thing, (and ultrafilter got me on the It’s thing).
I should have known better than trying my “nitpick” trick on dopers, it works in real life tough, i once convinced a friend of mine that “Believe” was correctly spelled “Belyeve” by nitpicking small mistakes he made and then “nitpicking” when he wrote it correctly :D.
