For those of us so inclined, I and my colleagues are observing a moment of silence in memory of 9/11. Beginning now.
Forgive, but never forget.

…Why not? If anything, the reverence and reaction to 9/11 has done more harm to America than the actual incident itself.
Forgive woukd seem to cover that, no? And not forgetting what led up to it and how the response was handled seems like it could inform future decisions.
Just because it’s Shodan doesnt mean. You have to disagree.
I was in calculus when it happened. Didn’t get to see any footage until that night.
Why should you forgive? Don’t forgive and don’t forget.
It began:
The start of the Project for the new American century…
If there’s a debate here, I’ll take the anti-terrorism side. Who’s pro?
Sound like something you could/should have done without a grandstanding post on a message board.
Thanks to those who joined in the moment of silence.
Regards,
Shodan
I don’t think it’s something that should be forgotten, just like other atrocities are remembered. Forgetting history is a great way to repeat it.
I think most of us were asleep.
I think it was intended more as witnessing than a debate.
Seriously, 7:30 AM? What kind of person wakes up at that time of day?
A terrorist.
I’ll never forget when I was in AIT (after-basic-training trade school in the Army), and the sergeant teaching the class came in late, and said “I knew it would happen eventually. You build these skyscrapers tall enough, and some idiot will fly a plane into them.”
Then somebody came by the classroom and said the other tower was also hit by a plane, so it couldn’t have been an accident. Then, the teachers all went to the break room to watch the news, and our drill sergeants came to march us back to the barracks so we could call our families and also watch more news. It was a fairly unproductive day.
You look at a lot of places in the world, it seems like lost of their problems are caused by people who remember too much history. A little amnesia might go a long way in the Middle East.
Who is it we’re supposed to forgive, and remind me why I’m the one who’s supposed to forgive them?
The thousands that were killed that day did.
Because if you don’t, they win.
I’m just not a forgiving kinda guy. Fuck 'em.
It should be remembered, but remembered in context.
