70's Cloning Movie

I remember a movie in the 70’s about some guy who woke up in the future to find that clones were being made to provide spare body parts. The adult clones existed in glass containers and the guy ultimately set them free, and I remember a final scene with the clones wandering around in amazement at their new freedom. I can’t remember the name of the film though. Anybody see this besides me?

I don’t remember that one, but there was 1 1970s film called The Clonus Horror (I think it was also called Parts: The Clonus Horror) about a “colony” where young people are kept in excellent physical condition. If they do well they will “graduate” and “go to America”. Really the “colony” is Clonus, a company that clones people and keeps them healthy so that parts can be provided to the wealthy clients. One day a clone finds a beer can in a stream. He asks about it and is told that it’s nothing. He escapes and meets a crusty old newspaper man (Art Carney?) and enlists his aid. I don’t remember how it ends.

The newspaperman was probably Keenan Wynn, as he’s listed in the http://www.imdb.com credits for “Parts: The Clonus Horror”.

Right. As soon as I read the name I remembered.

I think I vaguely remember your film, mangoldm. Is there a creepy scene where the clone comes out of the vat and his eyes are all staring in the wrong directions and shit?

I also remember a scene where a guy–I think the guy who was cloned–starts pouring something that looks like window washer fluid into the vat while arguing with another scientist, saying that the window washer fluid will speed up the development process or something.

That’s all I remember.
