8/24/41 spam?

I get an occasional spam dated 8/2*/41. The date changes, but not the year. It’s some kind of sales pitch, and doesn’t seem hostile in any way. Todays was for some weight loss product. It goes to the bottom of my inbox. Is this the point, or is there some other explanation (for the date)?
If this has been asked before, I couldn’t find it. I did search.

a lot of the spammers are figuring out that really old dates (or ones far in the future) will foil attempts to report the spammer through services like SpamCop and others. Most of the spam reporting services restrict reports to a short period of time after the spam arrives (usually three days.) They think that the date that they set will confuse the spam reporters - but they forget that most of the spam reporting sites use the actual internet posting datestamp that’s appended by the last server the e-mail goes through.

Of course forcing it to the bottom of your inbox may also make you ignore it (or not notice it) long enough for the spammer to get away with a few million transmissions before being shut down too.

Thanks, TVGuy.
It seems harmless enough, but I’m going to report it anyway. I don’t like sneaks.
