Anyone having difficulty with 800 numbers today? In SouthWestern Ohio, (Dayton area) we are getting an all circuits are busy, busy signal. (Fast busy) Calling around to those that I know, I hear this is a regional issue caused by a satallite problem.
It seems odd to me that all 800 calls would go through one satallite, especially since there is minimal lag in such conversations. So that line seems like a bunch of bunk, but I’m looking for clairification.

Ok, I work in a telecomunications company on Long Island, NY. We have been having some problems with some of our 800#'s (we have over 10,000) Our telco company blamed it on Ameritech (I think that was the company). Said there was something wrong with their system.
Now, if that was the truth, or if they were lying to get us off the phone, who knows.
Here is the info I got from my rep:
Customer Alert - due to network problems, all toll-free service is currently unavailable. This affects all 800 service in the Ameritech region, across all carriers. No restoral time is available at this point. This also
affects conference bridges, pagers and remote dial in access.
