AAAHH…Thanks a MILLION Opal. If there’s one thing I love more than anything else in the world it’s 80’s music. Where do you get your music, if I may ask.

“I hear the mermaids singing, each to each. I do not think that they will sing to me.” -T.S. Eliot

Mostly it’s downloaded from newsgroups and we pick the stuff we like out and burn it onto cd. I can load two cds at once plus set stuff from my hard drive and set them to random play or I can take requests

Mexican Radio by Wall of Voodoo.

Post haste!

Well it seems you’re not listening at the moment, so I can’t… use the form on the page to send in requests–they go to my ICQ pager and I get them right away.

Thanks Opal, the music has been great, takes me back to my… hmmm young adulthood

I opened the door, and look who I found. Damn I’m good

Opal, I tried, but I can’t get it to work. I downloaded and installed winamp, but every time I try to listen, it wants to install it again. Oh well

It is too clear, and so it is hard to see.

find the “applications” section of your browser preferences and make sure that it’s set to play MP3 (MPEG AUDIO) with winamp… make sure the path is to the player, and not the installer!

Ah, okay. The reason I posted the req here was that fathom.org wasn’t responding last night when I tried it, so I didn’t know there was a form. Don’t ask me why I posted a request that I didn’t expect to hear, though

MP3 isn’t one of the file extensions there. When I try to add the .mp3 extension, it says the extension is already associated with the “winamp media file.” And when I try to start your stream, it tries to open the installer, even though I deleted it (so it complains it can’t find it).

I go into winamps options/preferences, and mp3 is listed there, and winamp is supposed to grab the extension everytime it starts up, but it doesn’t.

If I double click on an mp3 file, winamp starts right up.

I can’t get it to work either, Opal. I tried clicking damn near every link on your site to get the thing to load up, but nothing seems to work. The searches you recommended yield no results.

Do you have a URL that I can plug in to Winamp (in the Open Location box) to listen? Seems like that would be the easiest way.

Puff: the broadcast was probably off when you tried. I will try to run it as much as possible, but that will probably be more like 21/7 than 24/7
It’s on now though

Don’t streaming MP3 files usually use the .M3U extension? Especially playlists?

Honestly I’m not totally sure, why? The way that I’m doing it, the link looks like this:
http://www.live365.com/cgi-bin/play.pls?addr=216.32.166.75:7944/&file=filename.pls

However it might be different because I’m going through another server. Who knows what the format is that I upload–it gets reflected from their server and out to the world, so it might change somehow.
