Let’s ask Valerie Plame about that, shall we? I suppose you could argue that outing Plame was merely intentional endangerment. Still, death threats wouldn’t be such a big step from there would they?
Well, we can’t really be sure about the whole Valerie Plame thing until the investigation is complete. We are assured that the Justice Dept. is conducting a throrough investigation at all deliberate speed. They’ll track down the miscreant no matter how long it takes, yessiree, Bob.
But I, for one, am willing to suspend judgement on this until say, oh, Thanksgiving.
No, but it does seem that the GOP’s fellow travelers on the right are much more prone to making death threats than are the Dems’ fellow travelers on the left. What sort of death threats did Ken Starr get, for instance?
Make of that what you will.
Yet actual GOP operatives are much more prone to holding Dems responsible for every little thing their fellow travelers do. For instance, the GOP slime machine got into gear recently, lambasting Kerry over a questionable remark by lefty blogger kos. The connection? Kos’ blog is one of many linked to from Kerry’s blog.
Meanwhile, does anyone hold Bush responsible for everything Falwell, Robertson, or Dobson says when he invites them to his prayer breakfasts? Does anyone hold Cheney responsible for everything Limbaugh says when Cheney appears on his show?
Would be nice.
Am I being whooshed? Do you really think that during the late 1990s, James Baker III, the former Secretary of State, was simulatneously working at the Carlyle Group and for the Department of Justice under President Clinton? And that this same James Baker continued to serve for the Justice Department in 2000 while he was an advisor for the Bush campaign? How in the world did he manage that commute between Houston and Washington?
Ok, enough with the rhetoric.

Or maybe ABC News is in on the conspiracy also…
Will you accept James Carville saying on TV that Starr was “one step away from not having any kneecaps?”
Starr tells me he received a large number of death threats following such remarks.
Death threats were made against Linda Tripp.
Which Kerry promptly de-linked. Maybe that says something about what Kerry thought of Kos’ stated wish for soldiers to die?
Shall we hold Kerry responsible for what Al Sharpton and Cynthia McKinney say?
Or shall we grow up, stop playing white-hat/black-hat and admit that there are assholes on all sides of the aisle?
No, I was just too quick on the trigger. You were right, and I was wrong. It turns out that there really are two lawyers named “James A Baker” doing favors for Bush.
One is James A Baker III, former Secretary of State.
The other is James A Baker IV, son of the above.
Sorry about that.
