I need 9 and 10 letter words that have 4 anagrams or more.
No proper nouns.
I need 9 and 10 letter words that have 4 anagrams or more.
No proper nouns.
Why?
Dude, totally not enough anagrams in that. Not to mention being a letter or 2 shy of the 9 letter minimum.
I’ve got a book I picked up in England which has words listed by the alphabetical order of their letters. If I can find it, I’ll see if I can find any with 3 or 4 entries for 9 letters. (This is useful in cheating on cryptics.)
Closest I could come up with was 8 letters:
parental
parlante
paternal
prenatal
If we relax the minimum 4 restriction, then I have two 18 letter anagrams:
conversationalists
conservationalists
And three 14 letter anagrams:
interrogatives
reinvestigator
tergiversation
thanks…but 10 is the max fer my needs.
I’ll settle for 3 anagrams of 9 or 10 letters if anyone can help.
I can do 2 x 10:
Australian
Saturnalia
But that’s it, out of my head. If you feel you have any likely candidates you can use the Internet Anagram Server - which, beautifully, anagrams to I, Rearrangement Servant.
Resistance Ancestries
Orchestra Carthorse
Deductions Discounted
Crudities Diuretics
Sorry, missed the fact you need 4 from each.
The web site might help
Best I can do for ya…
ascertain
cartesian
sectarian
Cartesian is, admittedly, a proper adjective, but is used commonly enough that you could try not capitalizing it and see if you get away with it…
ETA my source: the anagram dictionary
triangles
integrals
gnarliest
Hmmmm… just realized I hadn’t considered modifying the tense of some combinations in the the anagram dictionary. How 'bout…
listening
tinseling
enlisting
corseting
sectoring
escorting
May be more; but must get back to work…
In that case, I can meet the OP’s requirements with:
parentals
parlantes
paternals
prenatals
