911 (the number, not the date)

So, I had a medical emegency  Sunday (and one less tooth). I had to dial 911. Does anyone know if 911 charges for a call out. Yes, I know the insurance pays for it, but how many $ (if any any) do those paramdeics charge?

Emergency Services (the folks who answer the 911 calls) are not the same as the paramedics that show up when you call.

The paramedics are billed through your health insurance, but the 911 folks are not. They are compensated by the county (or tax authority) by small charges that are applied to your local phone bill each month. If you go through your telephone bill, you should see some small charge on it for Emergency 911 service. On my bill, I pay $1.50 per month.
