I was one of those people banned for starting a thread with no title.

I was also banned for having a name that was blanks.
When I changed my name I became unbanned.

And yes, the threads with no name have been deleted. Why? Because TubaDiva had a fit, sure that they were somehow terrible for the board.

The fact that she was wrong, that they are funny and harmless is still true.

You claim “empty subject lines sometimes play havoc with the indexing”. But they don’t. The one on Fathom that pops up from time to time (and which was repeated when it overflowed to two pages) is proof of that.

Yet you still “do not like them”. To the extent that other people have recieved a nearly identical warning to the one aftermarketeer gave, but by a mod. If a poster trys to warn another poster that he’s too close to one of the boards odd “panic buttons”, that’s a crime? But if a mod warns him off that’s ok, because mods love to swagger and sabre rattle

Actually, if you look at that thread, UncleBeer was trying a few tricks of his own, trying to convince people that empty posts were possible, but then got shown up. And he closed it because he was getting whupped in the logic department. That’s one of his favorite reasons to lock threads, is frustration that he can’t win the argument.

Incorrect. You see, you are still posting. This means you were not banned. Unless you are suggesting that you have since returned with a new screen name. In which case someone will be along shortly to remove the privileges for this one.

Additionally, you are discussing my empty post. The topic here is empty subject fields. Two completely different animals. As are the software packages used here (vBulletin) and Fathom (UBB).

Can you not tell the difference between apples and oranges? And I gotta ask, “Whupped in the logic department?” How so?

Finally, one of my mostest favoritest reasons for closing certain threads is their propensity to attract derogatory and false comments on the administration of this board, from liars and agitators, such as yourself—in a forum unsuited for it. Much like this thread.
