99,920 and counting!

I have a 2001 SC2 that currently has 82,000 miles on it with no problems and only routine maintenance. It was my first new car, and I wanted something reasonably sporty (as opposed to the the plain used sedans I had always driven before). My first choice would have been a Pontiac, but those were out of my price range. I was trying to talk myself into liking the Chevy Mailibu, when my dad suggested that we swing by the local Saturn dealership. (Dad is retired from General Motors, and he was giving me his employee discount, so I was sticking with GM brands.) I saw the SC2 and it was love at first sight. I don’t know that I’d buy it again, but only because these days I’m making enough money that I’d go with a Pontiac. But that SC2 has served me well, and shows no signs of stopping.

I almost forgot: I love the third door on my SC2. It makes it easy to get at the back seat. Of course, it’s just a coupe, so the back seat is more vestigial than practical, but it’s still great for cargo space, and thanks to that 3rd door I can fit even fairly large objects back there easily.
