LOL. It’s kinda sad and pathetic that the “original” site of the movement in NYC can muster at most around coupla thousand protesters, and Romans can do 100,000.
Actually, you’re wrong. The “movement” originally started with the Arab Spring and spread to Europe, with Spain in particular, taking the lead. In fact, you’ll find a number of Spaniards in the organizing committee of the OWS – though today there were back in Spain, taking over city squares all over the country: a picture of La Puerta del Sol***** as we speak.
Jeebus, you can’t be serious, can you? Really? Anyone who participates in SS, a program in which they have no say, since W’s initiative to privatize was voted down, is a socialist? That’s the best you have, huh?
The least obnoxious of this group are the whiny children with English degrees and $50k student loans that they can’t pay back, and demand to be forgiven. They’re still idiots, but they’re young and therefore don’t know any better. And they are solid votes in 2012 for your messiah, President Downgrade.
So, you have to go to Rome to find behaviors the vast majority of protesters will not support, what you showed thought is that **you **need to have more than half a brain to read the complete article and use perspective.
Listen, I’m pretty damned liberal. I’ve got my complaints about the prohibitive cost of higher education, and I’ve also got my share of debt, but these kids asking for loan forgiveness are pissing me off. I feel like half these people are living in a magical fairyland where policy is changed just by wishing. If they want to change things so damned much, they should take their protests out of the street and start banging on some Congressmen’s doors.
I agree with this. The left needs better ideas than blocking traffic and demanding other people make it better.
They also need more focus. The perfume-poop crowd always wants to make everything about everything. Any event is a political rally, and any politically rally is about every lefty cause they can think of.
And many of the younger kids are just annoyed that they didn’t get a high-paying corporate job right out of college. if they had, they’d be grumbling about the protestors while they drove into work.
But it’s a lie that these are all college grads with iphones. There are a lot of middle-aged and older people participating, people who have seen their financial futures fall apart despite hard work and prudent decisions. There are soldiers there who have returned from fighting Bush’s wars to find no opportunities.
