Whoooa, that’s what that means?!
(I mean when my Illuminati Overlord told me to do it I thought it was some super secret coded message . . . it’s just my initials (and a note to folks that didn’t want to type out my full username), I’m sooo disappointed!)

That’s a really silly thing to do.

What I said in that last paragraph is that you guys are acting like if is very uncommon for a troll to generate out of nowhere[according to y’all apperantly].
Is not gibberish, is just a poorly constructed sentence.
IT. You lying fucking idiot. IT.
‘IT is not gibberish,* IT* is just a poorly constructed sentence.’
Is time to drop the fucking idiot boy from Mexico act. Is fucking boring and fooling no-one.
Imagine that, in the whole universe, 2 morons find the same board to troll. The same thread even. Or is it two? Tell me the truth, I won’t tell anyone. Is it a relative or your sock?

Reminds me of Murder By Death :
Sidney Wang: What meaning of this, Mr. Twain?
Lionel Twain: I will tell you, Mr. Wang, if YOU can tell ME why a man who possesses one of the most brilliant minds of this century can’t say his prepositions or articles! “What IS THE,” Mr. Wang! “What IS THE meaning of this?”
Sidney Wang: That what I said! “What meaning of this?”
Of course, our Luciano700 is only a lower-case wang.

But Hillary …

and the Armenian genocide
and the 100 Years War
and the Permian extinction.
She was behind ALL of it.

I’ve been a fan of the Straight Dope column for years. I remember reading it in the local weekly while I was in college. I’ve only just today noticed this discussion board, though, and I guess I got a little emotional because I expected more of fellow Straight Dope fans. (if it’s not making too much of an assumption that you are fellow fans?) I would have thought such persons would skew toward a form of discourse that was more even handed and always focused on getting at a more complete understanding.
As it turns out, there are a lot of people here that are so fixated on petty partisanship that they’d sooner believe the Kremlin is here arguing with them than that there might be a modicum of rational dissent in their own country. How idiotic.
Given the revelations of the past year I say our reaction is entirely reasonable. As far as partisanship, take that any way you please.
But consider… the asswipes who are all fine and dandy with Putin’s trolls and Russian interference in the election - in the media, on the web, and in the White House are the same traitorous bastards who used to accuse us of treason at every turn in very recent years. AND they keep threatening “2nd amendment solutions” … meaning murder and armed revolt.
You see, petty spiteful partisanship has been in vogue with the rightwing flag waving phonies for years. You guys just don’t like being on the receiving end for a change.
So there ya go. If you don’t like the heat…
You get the respect you give. In this case NONE.
You lose. You get nothing from me. Good day sir.

Crazy thread
Thank you for finally owning up.

I could go on and on; these are just my personal opinions, and I’m only one insignificant person. You don’t need to agree with any of this at all, but the point is that collectively they don’t fit into any mainstream candidate or party platform over the past several decades. And yet they are quite sensible, definitely not out on the lunatic fringe. More than half the people in my own life view these ideas as just plain common sense. So I’m not “trying” to be either of your labels. Why should I have to fit into one of your simplistic preconceived categories?
My point is this: even if I take only the top 5 issues I care most deeply about (which are not necessarily these) and ignore all the rest, there is NO mainstream candidate or party that represents my beliefs. Millions of other people are in the same position, in case you hadn’t noticed. It’s only you dittoheads in your pathetic bubble who think your guy or gal has it all right, or even “close enough” to merit strong support. “Lesser of two evils” is a sham to keep you placated while everything is going to crap. I’m not going to participate in that anymore, and neither should you.
You know who else feels this way? Everyone. Everyone feels like neither party represents them perfectly, because they don’t. 325+ million people don’t divide cleanly into two piles on every issue. This is not an insight.
The cause of our two-party system isn’t blind partisanship, or everyone but you being stupid. It’s a result of the structure of our first-past-the-post, winner-take-all electoral system.
Advocating for a third party without changing the system is doomed to fail. The best outcome you could hope for is either one of the major parties co-opting your most popular positions, or one of the major parties declining and being replaced with a new party, resuming the two-party system.
If you want change, advocate for electoral reform, not a center-right party to slot in between the centrist Dems and far-right Repubs.
I think we should follow Oregon’s path at all costs.

You’re asking me to explain to you why it’s more difficult to subdue a hundred people armed with rocks versus a hundred people armed with rifles? Is that your question?
Because if that’s your actual question, I think you’re simply bought into an ideology and there’s nothing I can say that you’ll actually be open to hearing.
Translation: I’m just here to troll and stir up shit, and have no inclination of actually following through and defending anything I have to say.
Fuck off.
