A big thanks to the British National Health Service

My daughter complained all day Sunday of stomach pains and thought it must have been the dodgy kebab she had eaten on Saturday night. The pain wasn’t getting any better and so at 11 o’clock in the evening we called the doctors out of hour service. A doctor arrived within a couple of hours and examined my daughter and said he thought she might have appendicitis. He called the local hospital and told them to be prepared to receive my daughter within 30 minutes. We took my daughter to the hospital and they ran some tests etc. and at 1 o’clock this afternoon she was taken into surgery to have what turned out to be a very inflammed appendix removed!

I’m impressed! 13 hours from the doctors visit to surgery. Well done the NHS.

Not bad at all. impressed

She may have gotten to surgery in less then 13 hours, but I bet she didn’t get to see the wine list while she was waiting.

(My Grandma went private, and really did get a wine list! But that’s not really the best thing to be giving to a recovering alcoholic.)

By ‘recovering alcoholic’ I am of course talking about my Grandma, and not your daughter.

The NHS does a great job with what it’s got. Saved my life twice, alld without ruining me financialy.
