A bird of prey collided with my window in the night

Lunch? They’re apparently quite tasty.

Indeed. They’re made of meat.

Last year we had a blue jay window imprint on the glass for months. The head turned sideways, wings spread wide, and the mental thud I reheard every time I saw it.

No windows involved, but birds of prey.
Red-tailed hawks regularly nest at my local golf course, this year near the 9th green.
Yesterday evening, a youngster had taken up a perch in a tree on one side of the green, where he sat screaming for his parents to bring him some food. In between squawks, every couple of minutes he would practice flying from one tree to another on the other side of the green, swooping to just over head level and not caring whether or not any golfers were using the green at the moment.
Add in the constant screeching, and his parents’ occasional flights to and fro, and it was quite an unusual situation.
Those babies are BIG when they are flying within a couple of feet of your head!

Cool video. I understand what you mean that it’s a bit busy outside. If Wifegetout hasn’t cleaned it off yet (or made you clean it off) perhaps you will have better luck in the dark (which I reckon was a couple of hours ago huh)

One of my favorite vids:

“DeghwI’chegh poS nom! 'Och Hong Botjan! AaaIIIEEE!!!”

Warning! Window collision imminent…!
