I have no evidence that this is happening or will happen, but the other night, while waiting to re-see “The Two Towers” I had a harrowing vision of two men shaking hands, and one saying, “Congratulations, Mr. Bruckheimer. The movie rights to The Sword of Shannara are yours.”

A Sword of Shannara movie would make my daughter (Shannara) very happy. 
In addition to ROTK, Jeremy Irons is supposed to have a new movie out next year, so I’m content.
I heard that Harrison Ford officially signed on for another indiana jones. probably old news but, I’m excited nonetheless.

The Jim Carrey movie is called Bruce Almighty. I saw a trailer for it at the two towers. It looks pretty damn funny if you ask me.
c_goat is right: it’s calledBruce Almighty . God (Morgan Freeman) goes on vacation, and has Jim Carey fill in for Him, giving Bruce (Carey) all of His God-powers.
Actually, I hear that Jim Carrey’s character can only affect things within a certain very small radius (something like in his own street block).
