Heavy Metal 2000
Never heard of it. Tell me more. It must be STV.
Friday the 13th. It was a dumb movie to begin with, it didn’t deserve 9 sequels.
I don’t know if it made the rounds of the cinemas last year or not. Basically, a sequel to the early 80’s animated (and hard rock filled) “Heavy Metal”. Heard about Heavy Metal 2000 (or Heavy Metal F.A.K.K.2, depending on your media source) last year and saw a bit of it on HBO a few weeks ago. Lots of nudity, robots, heavy metal and fairly light on script. Much like the first.
The original is a bit of a cult hit, I guess. But it’s not like there is a Rocky Horror 2 out there. Nor should there be.
Speaking of which, who the heck green-lighted “Blair Witch 2” anyways?
Superman III & IV
Sorry to burst your bubble, but there is a sequel. The title is Shock Treatment. The only returning cast members of note are O’Brien, Quinn, Campbell and Gray. Sharman also directed it.
Gah! That’s what I get for stating a belief as a fact. I still believe that there shouldn’t be a Rocky Horror 2. Just as I believe that there shouldn’t be a sequel to “Short Circut”.
I saw The Madness of King George and the play The Madness of George III.
Anyone know what happened to part 2 ??
And, humourously, Brad and Janet were the only returning characters…
(And I’m confused as to how a lot of these (American Pie, Heavy Metal, Superman) made it to a list of 'I can’t believe they made a sequel - all are good, and, relatively speaking (for their target audiences) successful - IE deserving of a sequel. Of course, Superman III & IV fall into ‘I can’t believe they made THAT as a sequel’ and FAKK2 is a case of ‘Why did they call that a sequel?’ but still…)
They are apparently making a sequel to the 1998 American Godzilla.
I’m pretty certain there’s not a sequel to a single disney movie that doesn’t suck. The originals were awesome, the second time around, it was pathetic. Some people just don’t learn.
Jurassic Park II and III. The first was alright, but the second was already outliving its welcome, if you ask me.
Mighty Ducks II and III. The first one was, although predictible as hell, an alright movie for the target audience. The sequels were almost identicle, but with a slightly older cast. And they were awful side plots too… IMO at least.
I hate belated sequals, like the made-for-TV sequals to The Parent Trap, or the third Crocodile Dundee movie.
It’s like we’ve been sitting and waiting for these.
Sir Rhosis
Rush Hour 2
Mummy Returns
Blair Witch 2
Mission Impossible 2

planet of the apes
The Land Before Time. The first one was great, but there are now 6 sequals. And they sing. Straight to Cartoon Network. It’s painful.
All of the Jaws sequels.
I second the “Land Before Time” sequels, I didn’t even like the first one too much.
I also second the Disney sequels, not a single one was good. Take Aladdin, for the second one they didn’t even use Robin Williams as the voice for Genie! He was what made that movie, and I suspect he was what contributed greatly to the failure of the second movie. This is only speculation, however because he was involved in the third movie, and it was a failure as well. I think Disney found this out after Return of Jafar, (2) and when they put out King of Thieves, in bright yellow letters they proclaimed “Starring Robin Williams”.
Ah well. Leave it to Disney.
Uhh, Planet of the Apes wasn’t a sequel… Unless you’re talking about all the great ones hah like “Under the Planet of the Apes” that came out after the original. And I think the Mummy returns was a good movie, and for a sequel, was really well done. And Planet of the Apes is a GREAT movie, it’s so funny, and interesting. But I didn’t understand part of it… so if you care to explain to me (Anyone) email me, please!
