First thing I thought of when I saw Jeremy getting into it was a comment that one of the astronauts made about the Mercury capsule, “You don’t so much get into it as put it on.”
That’s just scary. Did you se the front wheel lift up going around the corner? It wasn’t even a sharp turn!
I really worry about folks in these tiny cars. Here in the US, many vehicles prevent us from being able to see something so low to the ground. Every time I see a Smart Car I wish I could drive one, then start thinking about how to attach a flag of some sort to make me visible to trucks and SUVs.
When I retire I may go for something like this. But as long as the Celtling is in the vehicle, I’ll keep a nice square hunk of solid American steel between us and the road, thank you!

Have you actually seen a Smart on the road? It’s a short car, but it’s 60.7" tall - that’s 4" taller than a Ford Crown Victoria.
I was noticing the smoke trail. Was it a two-stroke?

That’s just fucking cool. Given how close it is to circular, I’m surprised they didn’t just put the rear wheel on a pivot so you could turn around in place. I love when he’s zipping around the cubicles… you could put a fin on top and play office shark!
Have you seen the Personal Urban Mobility and Accessibility (PUMA), a new GM-Segway two seater? If you’ve ever taken your trashcan to the curb and thought “Damn, if only I could have a vehicle just like this!” then it’s what you’ve been dreaming of.
It wouldn’t be a terrible idea in a place where cars aren’t allowed, but in a crash- even low speed- it’s going to be worse than a bicycle. (A bike you can probably maneuver out of harm’s way faster and easier also.) Segway is one of those “it’s a brilliant idea… but… not sure for what just yet” things, and the fact GM is behind this one says much about the need for bailout (“Thought this was a good ides didja?”)
That is SO COOL! Wow, I so want one. Don’t think I’d get it in black though, as it would kinda disappear in traffic. I’d go with red or bright orange or something. Thought it was funny that it had seatbelts. For what?
That was pretty darn funny. I would want one if it had a way to carry things with you. I couldn’t even bring home a pound of butter in one of those.
The Segway two seater looks like it fell off a ferris wheel.
