Whaddaya do for a cat with a cold? She’s been having sneezing fits and her eyes and nose are sometimes watery. This has been going on for about 4 days.
I know we’re not necessarily vets here, but I’d like to know how others have dealt with this.
Might not be a cold. I had a cat with hay fever once. Had to give her meds for it. Go to the vet.
Could be an allergy, Feline Herpes or other malady. Definitely go to a vet.
Do cats catch cold? I didn’t think so.
Oh, they get upper respiratory viruses all right. One of mine got a runny eye and sneezing fits recently and I took him in just as a precaution. It didn’t affect his behavior a bit and the vet said as long as he was eating properly it wasn’t of great concern. He got over it in a few days.

Make sure it’s eating and drinking and that its environment is a little warmer. If it doesn’t clear up in a couple of days, see a vet. FWIW, whichever cat sleeps on my bed most has a greater chance of having a cold when I do, suggesting that at least some rhinoviruses can be transmitted bwtween us.
