It has become a story that is hot off the press in Hong Kong. What is the viewpoint of people in Seattle on this event ???

Well, I hadn’t heard of this. It seems like the Cheungs were taking really stupid risks. If you want to get rich selling fake art, at least limit yourself to selling realistic fakes, fer chrissakes. I confess that I wouldn’t know the difference, but judging from the article comparing the inspiration vase to the knockoff, you’d think that anybody with a true grasp of Chinese antiquities would have had no difficulty detecting the ruse.
As for the disgraced former professor’s hair… let’s just say that that doesn’t look genuine, either.
This is more of an MPSIMS thing than GQ, so I’ll move this thread over there.
Cheung insists that he doesn’t sell counterfeits. The vase that’s supposedly fake has been tempered with - re-fired - he countered.
That’s absolutely possible. Cheung seems to think that it is a political event.
I think his hair is genuine.
Thanks.
