A Christmas Story - tongue on flagpole question

Another common enough problem like this.

When people get their cars stuck in snow/ice, it is a good idea to remember to keep your face OFF the trunk lid while pushing the car out.

People have gotten the faces stuck to the trunk lids pushing cars out in the winter. It is especially bad because when the car gets unstuck, you will either be drug behind the car by your face, or get a nice peel. Ouch.

My recollection is that this should only happen with Bare Metal – skin shouldn’t stick to baked enamel.

SNOPES thinks the same thing – they’ve got an UL about this.

I remember the same thing – and it’s what I think about whenever I see posts about this. Snopes seems to give the impression that the urination part itself is UL, but I don’t buy that.

For the Record, I don’t think I’ve ever tried to push a stuck car with bare hands. If it’s cold enough to have enough snow to get stuck, it’s usually cold enough for me to have gloves. It wouldn’t surprise me if there is some pathological case where you can get stuck to a car, but I’ve never encountered it. And don’t particularly want to.
