I just realized Nov. 8, 2001 is the Thirtieth Anniversary of the release of Led Zeppelin’s untitled fourth album. The one with Stairway To Heaven, Black Dog, Rock And Roll, et al. What does this mean? I don’t know. Just something to think about, I guess.
Damn, missed it by two minutes.
It doesn’t have an official title. It’s called “Four symbols”, “Runes”, “Led Zeppellin IV”, or “untitled” but there is no official title.
I don’t know what the signifigance means. Those aren’t really my favorite Zep songs because they are overplayed. Of the group, I like Going to California the best.
I think III was more signifigant because it showed their musical ability. Led Zep I was some old yardbird tunes thrown together and II was written on the road while touring for I. III was when they finally had the chance to settle down as a group and show their talent.
Don’t get me wrong, I and II are great, but I think III validated them.
It is also popularly known as:
Runes
Led Zepplin IV
ZOSO
I’ve heard it referred to as “Reeds” once, but that was just some stoner.
I hate Led Zepplin’s Stairway to Heaven. Worst song of all time.
But, everything esle on the album is good.
Wow, really? I always thought it was a pretty good song. Hm, live and learn I guess.
