Oh my, this changes a lot in my book. I came in ready to defend her good sense with regard to spreading (or not spreading) her cold germs around, but I see that she didn’t feel this way about spreading them to her lunch companion and fellow diners. I think if you are well enough to go to lunch, then you are well enough to stop at the market on your way home.
I confess, and I am probably a bad person, that would I play the passive-aggressive card just a little bit here, and respond by saying “Oh, I’m so sorry you’re sick. Don’t worry about dinner. I’ll just plan to grab a sandwich here at the office. Feel better!”
