not complaining about being pregnant at all…i’ll throw up fifty times a day to have this baby…it was the combination of a bunch of things that made yesterday crappy.
I’m thrilled to death when I’m not throwing up. You can be happy and sick at the same time.
Her ass? Or the needle?
I can understand the grumbling. I’m not pregnant, but we’re trying. It will be a wonderful thing when/if I finally do turn the stick blue or + or whatever. Does that mean we can’t bitch about feeling sick, tired, cranky, etc.? No, it doesn’t. Being pregnant makes you part of an exclusive club of people who deserve to complain about what it’s doing to their bodies. I mean, you’re carrying a freakin’ human being in there, for crissakes! It’s making your body go all wonky.
Bitch away. And congratulations.
Stories of dog owners vomiting always leave me waiting for the other shoe to drop. Thank you, jarbaby, for just including the first half of the story.
You know if there was any way I could, Hon, that I’d send you a pill to make everything better. You get some rest now, ya hear?
Please. Anyone can bitch when they are pregnant, I don’t care what lengths they had to go to to get that way. You can be the most thrilled person in the world to be having a baby, that doesn’t mean that your body doesn’t feel like crap. Try having the flu for 3 months. Even if someone tells you you will get a million dollars at the end, that doesn’t mean it’s easy to get through each day.
I was so happy at the end of nine months to finally go into labor and get to see my baby, that does not mean I was skipping to the hospital and singing through each contraction either. You are happy about the situation but it still hurts!
Bitch all you want, Jarbaby. Anyone who’s been through it will understand.
My heart goes out to you - I was intensely morning sick with all three of my babies - the middle one put me in the hospital. It was terrible - absolutely the worst.
Lie down all the time, nibble on food that settles your stomach, and pray that the first trimester goes by quickly.
You may find that one food settles your stomach the best. With my second it was 7 Up and oatmeal cookies. With my third it was Taco Bell Mexican pizzas.
I think my former roommate ate nothing but ice-cream for her first trimester. Having watched what ya’ll have to go through for a child, I’m amazed anyone has a second, let alone more. The only thing pregnancy has going for it, is it take less time than adoption.
Hang in there, jar. I hope you feel better today.
I figure morning sickness is God’s way of toughening you up so you can withstand the rigors of parenting a 2-year-old. Kind of like a boot camp for mothers-to-be.
Hope you feel better soon, jarbaby!
Why does the Miracle of Life always seem to include messy body fluids?
Hang in there, jar. It will get better. Bitch if you want, that’s what we’re here for.
And keep a journal. You will need this in about seventeen years.
“What do you mean, you don’t want to go to college?” whips out journal "On April 12, 2005, I was puking my guts up on the dog and I made your father come all the way home to let me in the house - and this is the thanks I get?
To think what I went thru…some kind of gratitude…that I should live to see the day…people used to compare me to movie stars, but now…when I’m in my grave…" etc.
Repeat as necessary.
Regards,
Shodan
Potato chips. Lays. Plain Lays potato chips. Eaten very slowly and left to dissolve in my mouth.
Congrats on the pregnancy, Jar! Hope things smooth out soon so the next seven and a half months go as well as the did with every other pregnant woman I’ve known. (thinking for a moment) Okay, BETTER than that. MUCH better.
Shodan, I’m so glad this wonderful technology didn’t exist when my mom was pregnant. I shudder to think what life would be like for me if mom could electronically access all her gripes from that time.
My first trimester was moderately awful, and it was downhill from there. Just wait 'till you can’t roll over in bed! Of course, I was carrying b/g twins.
You don’t have twins, do you?
DO YOU?
Sheesh-I don’t see a woman bitching about being pregnant here either.
I see someone venting about the fact that 1) her dog woke her up early; 2) her favorite radio program wasn’t on; 3) she sat next to a real looser on the train and 4) she left her keys at work and really really needed to pee.
Oh, and by the way, she also feels like crap and all this is more difficult because she has morning sickness.
What’s with it with the people that circle the board like vultures just to swoop down on certain posters whenever they sense an opening?
Huge congrats on the baby, jar.
Saw the heartbeat today!!! Wowza.
I’m not feeling nearly as gross today. I love when the doctors say “oh, you’re doubled over in pain? TOTALLY NORMAL, here…fill out these papers”
Let me also clarify that I didn’t murder my dog. That was just a touch of dramatic license.
I am with you, honey.
With both my pregnancies, I had all-day sickness for the first 3 months. Like, exactly. On Day 91, all was well and I felt great, both times.
All-day sickness is a drag. It’s like morning sickness, only constant. I was only nauseous, though, I never barfed. Believe me, if I could have just thrown up and gotten on with my day, I would have been happy to do it! But no, I walked around “almost-puking” all day, every day. I got used to it.
Congrats! Despite the pukey bit, I loved every minute of pregnancy and delivery. I also love my anesthesiologist!
I have to say, it doesn’t always end in three months.
My sister in law had all-day-sickness for the last 8 months of her pregnancy. So… good luck with that. She also endured giving up smoking and caffeine.
<insert malicious smiley>
I think most of us figured the dog that was upset in the afternoon was the same on that had been brutally murdered at 5am.
Heartbeat, eh? That’s really cool. Did the med-tech give you a picture?
::::crosses ‘get pregnant’ off to-do list for September::::::
Congrats, jarbaby! I was wondering about you recently - I’m glad to hear that pregnancy became a reality for you and I’ll be sending good wishes for a healthy little one!
