A day to spend with anyone from history..Who would it be?

This has probably been done…but I am still curious.

You have an unlimited budget. You can go or do anything you want to do for one day. You can choose from any one person(living or dead)to join you. Who would you choose, and where would you go?

Myself, I would Love to spend a day barhopping with Mark Twain. Think of the the fun?
Of course, I also have this fantasy involving Harrison Ford, Kurt Russell, and myself in a hottub. But I figured it was too shallow to mention at a first go.

I am not the least bit religious but I would love to have a heart to heart with Jesus. No other person has had such an effect on mankind.

One of my favorite fantasies has always been an evening at the pub with Ben Jonson. He’d be interesting in his own right (how many devastatingly witty dead poets do you get a chance to meet?), but he also knew everybody – Shakespeare, Donne, James I – and was a notorious gossip.

Hmm… I think it would be very interesting (and amusing) to sit down and swap fantasies with the Marquis de Sade. I imagine I can think of a couple things that he hadn’t come up with, and I think he’d be very entertained by those notions.

I would like to spend a day with Hitler. (with a few fully licensed torturers, of course)

I’d have to second Mark Twain.

Another good one would be Winston Churchill, but not the old one. The YOUNG Winston Churchill. Or maybe the young Teddy Roosevelt. Crazy bastards, but smart.

Einstein would also be good. Jesus would be interesting but I don’t speak Assyrian.

This may sound strange, morbid even, but I’d like to spend a day with Virginia Woolf. I’d like to be with her the day she decided to walk into the river with rocks in her pockets.

Richard Feynman would be my second choice, followed closely by Oscar Wilde.

Nicholas II of Russia and his family, and King Alexander of Yugoslavia-(I have a crush on him…). I’d convince him to propose to Grand Duchess Olga before it was too late. (He wanted to marry her, but the war interrupted him from courting her while he was Crown Prince of Serbia, and then she was killed while he was at the front. He never got over it.)

Abe Lincoln. He’s my favorite from history, plus he seems like a real interesting guy from what I learned in Civil War class.

Probably someone who was controversial, just to find out what they were really like (I realize one day might not resolve that, but whaddya do?):

Richard III and Tiberius are two that are foremost in my mind.

Alternately, someone who left a significant imprint on the world, like Julius Caesar, Augustus, Jesus Christ.

About Jesus speaking Assyrian… I have a feeling if He truly was the Son of God, He would have no trouble conversing in whatever language necessary.

I don’t know who I’d really want to talk to, Jesus maybe. I would find it fascinating to speak with Hitler for a while, though, and do my best to figure out how a man can be so driven by hate.

Shakespeare.

Mark Twain or Will Rogers. Both lived interesting lives, yet both could see the humor in those lives.

Uhm, hate to nitpick, but I think Jesus spoke Aramaic. This, of course, could be incorrect- I’m a political science, not religion major.

M.

I would either doll myself and attend a ball at the court of (young) Ludwig II of Bavaria (tsarina: Wagner kommt! Wagner kommt!) or I would attend a lavish diner party with Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald.

No, you’re right – Jesus spoke Aramaic.

I’d have to go with Will Shakespeare, though…a choice which should be surprising to absolutely no one.

Toss-up between John Adams and Richard Feynmann… I kinda lean towards Adams, because I’ve been able to at least see Feynmann on NOVA and such.

Or maybe Abigail Adams…

Decisions, decisions…

Ok, I guess I’m not as refined as everyone else answering this question but I’d like to hang out with The Babe. The booze, the women…maybe take some batting practice with him, get a few pointers. Wow…The Babe

Ruth or Didrickson?

Sun Tzu. Maybe after an hour on bringing him up to speed, he can help me beat that blasted Starcraft game.
