Can somebody explain why this is so expensive?
As far as I can tell (since there’s no review or preview) this appears to be some type of teaching aide. What kind of features could this possibly have to make it cost so much?

Compared with DVDs of ordinary feature films, educational/training DVDs sell to a much smaller market, and to a market which is less likely to worry about price (because the person deciding to buy the video doesn’t pay out of his/her own pocket).
Especially since, if you click to the next screen (available from these sellers) the Price in a Glance box in the upper right corner says List Price $31.95 with a line through it.

False Beginner ?
Somebody who’s studied the language in the past (and therefor is not technically a beginner), but due to lack of usage (or other reasons, perhaps), have the actual fluency level of a beginner.
I have noticed on Amazon that some dealers have fantastically high prices for books and other items. I have a theory that they don’t actually have this item in stock but they want to maintain a presence on Amazon. So they post an absurdly high price so nobody would ever try and buy it from them. Then, if they actually get one in stock , they will reduce the price to a proper level so they can sell it.
I was trying to put words to that concept, figured it was something like that.
Why cant they just say “My College Spanish left me” level ?
It’s expensive because amazon isn’t selling it directly but through a dealer. The item is probably no longer being published and is therefore rare. Rare = expensive.
Never mind.
