A fact (?) about spinach

Hi, Cecil–

I seem to remember reading–I had assumed in your column–that much of spinach’s reputation is owing to a typo in a government report. The report did something like saying"seven times" instead of “point seven times.”

Is my memory playing tricks (no unlikely event at my age).
