A fascinating place in Montana

Kim Kommando’s daily web site lists this place in Montana; a kind of peace corps for desciminating political information. You have to read the job listings to get a real feel for it. Foos ball expertise is a prefered attribute of job candidates. If I was younger I’d be there in a flash; it sounds like it would be a unique experience. They are looking for computer geeks, but also a cook. Ha. I am so glad to see something like this; I was hoping that when the internet came to be not that many years ago that it would make a big contribution to maintainging our democracy, sadly being erroded over the years, and taking a big step backward with the present administration. I found out here that Kerry’s father was a Foreign Service Officer and Kerry went to a Swiss boarding school.

The organization itself does indeed sound intriguing, and I intend to explore it further; but I must confess that my brain screeched to a halt when confronted with:

Philipsburg.
Halfway between Anaconda and Drummond (and just 'round the bend from Porters Corners), this is hardly a place I’d call “fascinating.” Unless, of course, you’re deeply interested in the area’s mining history (lead, IIRC).

But makes the $14,500-17,000 salary range understandable—because there’s nothing in the vicinity to spend it on.

Or you like to fish (30 miles to Rock Creek), hike, hunt, camp, ski (20 miles to Discovery Basin?), backpack, etc.

but yeah, there aren’t a whole lot of place in Pburg to spend money.
