This was a plot point in Clear and Present Danger, where the druglord’s #1 henchman, played by Joaquim De Almeida, seduces a secretary for the FBI Director, to get information about his whereabouts.

She’s not being blackmailed, though. She’s blissfuly unaware of her lover’s duplicity right up to the moment he snaps her neck.

Actually, Vespa’s boyfriend was, in fact, a spy who was using her without her knowledge. This is explained at the end of Quantum Of Solace where Bond tracks down the boyfriend who is doing it again to a woman that works for the Canadian Embassy in Russia. He exposes him by showing her the same necklace that Vespa wore, which she was also wearing.

Althugh it could be said Bond took some rides on top of her, her name was Vesper, not Vespa.

Spoilers inevitable, right? So, come to think of it, this is technically the ending to HORRIBLE BOSSES: they dangle a guy in front of lusty Jennifer Aniston, she takes the bait, it’s all caught on film, cue instant blackmail.

Memio then surprises his man and the daughter (named Vorena) in bed together and threatens to tell her father. Vorena, knowing her father would kill her lover, agrees to become Memio’s mole in her father’s organization.

a Japanese-American male CIA agent seduces the female secretary of a top Chinese Communist leader so that he can gain ongoing remote access to the leader’s computer system. It’s not for blackmail, though.

Just to nitpick, Cortez doesn’t set up the assassination. In fact, he’s righteously pissed when he gets back to Columbia because the assassination compromised his source (because the FBI checks out who had Director Jacob’s schedule, which leads to the secretary which leads to Cortez). I hated how they changed this in the movie, turning Cortez from devious villain to plain asshole.

Frederick Forsyth also uses the honeytrap in The Cobra, in which a drug lord’s daughter falls for a handsome young man and tries to run away with him only to find out that a kilo of Columbian puro has somehow slipped into her baggage. Her incarceration is used to get the cartel figure to give up a list of corrupt officials around the world.
