A few Plasma TV questions.

Unfortunately, without some specs, there’s no way to know ahead of time if that cable will work for you or not. It works now, which is good. But if the HD channels are on a higher frequency, you may run into problems, since in general the higher the frequency of the signal the more that cable quality comes into play. You could try calling Comcast. If it’s a big deal, as in you’ll totally rearrange where everything goes if that cable doesn’t work, I’d try finding a friend with the HD channels you plan on getting, bring over the thin cable, and try it on his setup.

I don’t know which numbers to look at, but one of the reviews says it works with HD. Looks good, no?
I’d also like to say thanks to everyone for all the help. I’m going to look at some TVs this weekend. I do like the Sony, but I’d like to check something out with even more of a matte screen. Also, I think I read that some TVs have a daytime and nighttime setting. Don’t know if the Sony has that, but I’ll have to ask the guy at Best Buy.

Well, it’s a Monster cable, and it’s got “Gas injected PEX dielectric”, so I’m sure it’ll give you a picture so good you cry. Seriously though, I found the actual specs, which say it’s handle signals out to 1GHz, which is as high as any RG-6/U cable, so you’re good to go.

Just putting in my two cents.

We bought a 50" Samsung Plasma TV last fall and we love it. The kids play a lot of Wii games on it, and we never had a problem with burn in. I did notice a little image retention after they had a marathon session, but it went away quickly. (Don’t tell them, but I’m using it as an excuse to limit their video game time.)
