They aren’t essentially the same stuff. Everybody in this thread has said this. Aside form both being polymers they have n similarities at all.

I beg your pardon. I initially mis-read this sentence:

Beyond both being polymers, nothing whatsoever.

I took this, incorrectly, to mean that there was “nothing whatsoever” different between vegetable oils and mineral oils. My mistake.
