Wait! There are easier ways to search. For example, looking for a new laptop, you can just enter Computer and Categories = All, and it finds 222,901 listings. Then look at the list of subcategories down the left side of the screen and pick, e.g.:

PC laptops/netbooks
Laptop
Brand = Any
Screen size = 15-15.9, 16-16.9, 17+
Processor Type = Intel Core i5, i7
Processor Speed = 1 GHz or more
Memory = 4 GB or more
Condition = New, Manufacturer Refurbished

Check out the 18 computers it finds for you!

Then repeat as desired for other combinations of features until it finds something decent but actually affordable.

Do it all the time, but it often leaves many things out and many times there isn’t that much detail available to break it down with.

I oftentimes look to see what kind of old newspapers Ebay has, and I click on the “1970-Now” tab, and while the majority are from that frame, some of them are much older and as such do not fit the category; just thought I’d share that from my perspective.

Yeah!!! Fuck Ebay and how they help you narrow down categories!!! Fuck how they let you sort by price, which will necessarily bump all the accessories and shit down the list so you can see just the real items! Fuck the fact that in just a few seconds of effort you can pretty easily buy almost anything you could possibly (legally) obtain. FUCK YOU EBAY!

No, that’s exactly the problem. I want to see the lowest priced items first, which, depending on the category, means page after page of ultra cheap accessories and parts. But since I don’t want to miss a potentially good deal scattered in the mix, I have to actually look at the listings, page after page of them.
