An MST3K sighting. Robert Easton
The Giant Spider Invasion?
Actually, The Touch of Satan, but I think ol’ Bob is in a good 25% of all MST3K productions.
^^ Hey, I recognize that (fur covered) VW Beetle, it was in What’s Up, Doc? and Bullitt and the first Dirty Harry movie (I think it was called Dirty Harry) and those awful Herbie the Love Bug flix and Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz… .
“We ain’t blood kin. We’s more like kissin’ cousins!”
I think “looking up an obscure actor only to find they are anything but”…belongs here, but:
Oh, hey who’s that cute girl who holds signs with Briiit…Bret in the second episode of Flight of the Conchords? Who the heck is Sutton Foster?..oh she’s only a fucking TWO-TIME Tony award winner.
I was watching The Prisoner episode “Do Not Forsake Me, Oh My Darling” and thought the guy substituting for Patrick McGoohan looked familiar. Turned out he was Nigel Stock—“Cavendish, the Surveyor” in The Great Escape, minus his mustache.
Recognize this guy? He played losers whom Mary Richards dated on MTM. I saw him the other day on the “Gone with the Breeze” episode of That Girl. He played the guy in charge at the NYC metro’s lost-and-found office.
I saw an episode of That Girl a few months ago at random - Anne-Marie and her boyfriend crashland in a small airplane. I recognized the voice of the pilot before I even saw him
He played a tourist from Texas in a first season episode of “Adam-12” and I barely recognized him.
I just realized Father Gabriel from The Walking Dead is the same actor who played Sugar Watkins in Starship Troopers.
It wasn’t until he died that I realized that the actor who played the father in Teen Wolf (the 1980s movie) played Dobbs from “F-Troop”
It must be his voice, or maybe his posture? He didn’t even get a credit in, “Escape From…,” but there’s no mistaking him.
He’s dressed like a cowboy and absolutely nails the Texan drawl. I’m like I’ve seen that face before…
Pickles actually appeared in several episodes, played by two different actresses. Joan Shawlee was the second Pickles. The first one was Barbara Perry.
Speaking of “That Guy” the original Mr. Atoz certainly showed up in a lot of places
That guy is Carver from The Wire.
If ever anyone was destined to play The Professor on Gilligan’s Island it was Russell Johnson. He played a scientist in This Island Earth, another in Space Children, a time-travelling scientist in the original Twilight Zone episode “Execution” and another in the episode “Back There”. He was a technician in Attack of the Crab Monsters and a lineman in It Came from Outer Space. He was a doctor in the Lux Video Theater episode “Payment in Kind” and on The Real McCoys and Ben Casey and The Greatest Show on Earth.
THEN he played Professor Roy Hinckley on Gilligan’s Island. And all the sequels.
Then he was pretty much typecast and played a lot of other Doctors and Scientists (and reprised his Hinckley role on Alf)
Reminds me of what i discovered yesterday. This guy was so familiar, I figured he had to be in a Trek episode, but…nope. It was Electra Woman and Dynagirl I knew him from. But look at his career. Most actors fade away and do stuff you never heard of…but this guy was in EVERYTHING…except Trek.
Re: Russell Johnson…its a pity there arn’t actors like him anymore. He’d be on a shortlist for me to have play Reed Richards. There’s like ten 50’s actors who i’d like to see do that. These days settling for John Krasinski (who is fine, but isnt a steely scientist type) is sad
You’re right. Barbara was actually the one I saw.
Just now, a very young Richard Dreyfuss appeared in a bit part as a waiter in That Girl’s “Paper Hats and Everything.”
