deborak, I sent an e-mail to “June” whose e-mail addy was given on the “How to Volunteer” page. We don’t have Outlook Express set up on our 'puter, so I cut-n-pasted it and sent it from my personal e-mail. Maybe that’s the problem?
UPDATE: I just went back to the Operation Military Support website. They have apparently updated in the last few days and created an automatic form to give you the name and address of your soldier.
So- I’ve got my soldier! Off to write and send a package!
Oh, this looks like a great idea! I have to look into some of this stuff. Our soldiers out there need all the support they can get, and if everyone keeps up like this, they would all really appreciate it, I’m sure!
I’m going to do the best I can! Thanks!
eensy-weensy hijack:
I went out today and bought everything for our soldier’s care package. I’ll mail it Monday. I’m just wondering, those of you who have or are sending care packages- What are you including that is not on the lists provided by the websites?
We included eye drops. I figured that, with all that sand and dust, it might be welcome.
We were also not sure what kind of magazines to send. The sites specifically say no “girlie pictures.” Not that we were planning on sending porn, but I wasn’t sure about GQ or Maxim either, considering the content lately. We finally settled on “Men’s Journal.” Any other ideas?
