Is anybody here playing the web-based game related to A.I.? I’ve read about it, but want to know whether it’s worth sinking major amounts of time and frustration into.
huh?
what we based game based on A.I.? i’ve never heard of it.
saepiroth, a good place to go for the details of the A.I. web-based puzzle is here. It seems to be the repository of information compiled by folks all over who are trying to decpiher the puzzles.
I’ve barely looked at it. Frankly, I spend enough time on the web as it is.
I’ve been browsing Cloudmakers.org every once in a while for a couple of months now, and I have to say, this is one monstrous game. The level to which it goes is just astounding – clues in handout posters in theatres, the encoded messages in the tv commercials, the dynamic evolving nature of the puzzles on the various sites – it’s just amazing. It wasn’t until I actually saw the movie that I figured out how the game tied into it, though… strangely enough, the game is set at least a couple decades after the movie with of all people that little snot Martin (now grown up) as one of the lynchpins… Anyway, more reading is required… I recommend the “Trail” file for anyone who doesn’t actually want to trace through all the links across the Web. (Besides, since the game evolves, a lot of the early stuff is already gone and can’t be found now.)

I’m a pretty regular follower (but not contributer) of cloudmakers. I’ve been watching the game unfold for a month or so now. And it is seriously amazing. It’s beyond anything I’ve ever imagined. But, so you know, it looks like it’s starting to wrap up nowish. Also, except for a few characters and organizations, the movie is almost unrelated to the game, though a few clues were stuck into the credits.
As has been said, read the Trail. It was updated just a few days ago, though a lot has happened since then. If you’re worried about time, I suggest signing up for the moderated version of the email list, which forwards only emails that are actually relevant to the game, which is a surprisingly low percentage. The signal-to-noise ratio can get extremely small sometimes.
Feel free to email me if you have any questions.
Did I say Trail? I meant the Guide. Definitely the Guide.
