A "lesser" or lesser-known accomplishment, but YOUR favourite

For Ron Howard, one could point to his acting, producing, directing, or screenwriting as their favourite RH accomplishment, but it’s his narrating in Arrested Development that stands out, to me, as his beacon of all that is good and true.

Apparently Albert Einstein was a kick-ass table tennis player*, and so, conversely, there could be table tennis players here who might hold in higher accord his backhand smash (as well as standing a good ten feet back for impenetrable defensive play) than his dabblings in his theory of relativity, among other scientific pursuits.

Any luminaries of any sorts whose most popular attributes / accomplishments are not yours?

*This is a flat-out lie, and was stated merely to further exemplify the matter.

Ai Fukuhara is mainly known as a table tennis player but her TV appearances, cooking, etc. ought to be much more her popular achievement.

This feels a little more like MPSIMS than Coffee Talk. {WE?}

What is “Coffee Talk”?

I’ll go with Mr. Dimaggio’s coffeemaker ads.

I remember listening to sports radio one time and the host was interviewing Archie Manning. The host jokingly asked if his son Cooper was feeling left out because his two brothers Eli and Peyton had won Super Bowls and he hadn’t. Archie replied that Cooper was the first one to bring him a grandchild (or something like that, it’s been a while and I can’t recall all the details) and that elevated Cooper to “first place” in his book.

Zooey Deschanel is probably best known as an actor but I like her music more than her acting.

Jeff “Skunk” Baxter, guitarist for Steely Dan and the Doobie Brothers also worked as a contractor for the Department of Defense and chaired a Congressional Advisory Board on missile defense systems.

Hate to be Mr. Splithairs and all, but did you prefer his defense work over, say, his solo in “Rikki Don’t Lose That Number”? (which was damn fine, btw)
Heh - right, Scabpicker?

…when I’m calling youuuuuuuu-uuuuuuuu-uuuuu-uuuuuuuu… :musical_note:

I read the OP as “YOUR favorite”, as in the favorite lesser-known accomplishment of YOU. So that’s how I’m going to post:

.

I’ve often wondered about doing a fun resume… with my real stand-out skills:

• When I was six years old, I could draw a perfect circle… on an Etch-A-Sketch.

• And the “big kids” would bring their newest board game over to our house to have me explain the rulebook to them.

Yeah - my definitely errant OP title bedamned, (and thanks for bringing it to my attention), I’d still like this thread to keep to luminairies as stated in the OP itself.
Maybe start a separate thread on personal faves? (which sounds like an ok idea IMO)

Brian May got press when he finished his PhD in astrophysics, but he is still best known as Queen’s guitarist.

Danica McKellar earned a degree in mathematics, earned an Erdos number (4), and published several books on math, but she is still best known as an actress.

…but actually, er, well, forget it.

Justen Bieber might be known for his singing, but I’ll take his relatively ok hockey skills instead, especially with Mr. Pronger stapling him into the boards. :slightly_smiling_face:
Not bad skater, though. Pretty good hands.

Billy Joel builds custom motorcycles. Jeff Beck builds Old-School Hot Rods. That’s pretty cool.

Dexter Holland, lead singer and guitarist for the band “The Offspring” had completed his BS and MS in molecular biology from USC in the early 90’s when his band took off and received their first recording contract.

He went back in 2017 and defended his doctoral thesis and earned his PhD.
