It seems to me that examining the relationship of the parts of an analogy is perfectly valid.
The question is not “is it a proper analogy?” but rather “Is it accurate enough to support the point the poster is trying to make?”
One could make the analogy that 2sense is like a dung pile but that adds nothing to the discussion.
